About us
What is the children and young people’s service directory?
This is the single online directory that holds information about all children and young people’s services in one central location. The information will be kept up-to-date and will include information on service providers, eligibility criteria, geographical location and referral procedures.
Why produce a service directory?
To replace all existing directories and databases, that contain information and procedures on children and young people’s services, with one definitive service directory. Giving everyone access to the same information, in the same way.
To prevent considerable duplication of effort in collecting and presenting service information, by producing one, up-to-date, shared directory.
To be able to fully meet the requirements of the Information Services Directory, set out by the DCSF and the recommendations contained in Every Child Matters and the Youth Matters Green paper.
